Rethinking Sex Work: Examining the Role of Both Women and Men
I’ve been thinking about something that’s been on my mind, and I’m not sure if it will be accepted by everyone, but I want to share it. I’ve been feeling a bit nervous typing this, but I believe it’s important to speak openly . We often hear a lot of judgments about sex workers, especially women, and it’s troubling to me. These women are often seen as the 'sinners,' but who is it that demands their services? I don’t think they’re solely responsible. Men play a huge role, too, by seeking out these services. I wonder why we focus so much on criticizing the women involved without looking at the men who contribute to the existence of this profession. Sex work doesn’t happen in isolation—it’s a product of demand from both men and women. Before we judge or assess the character of a woman in this profession, we should think about the men who are part of this dynamic as well.
